The Event

Saturday, March 24, 2018
Cox Business Center - Downtown Tulsa
Cocktails & Entertainment Commence at
Six Thirty in the Evening
Black Tie Attire
Complimentary Valet Parking

“The Best Party in Town,” as it is often called, is a lavish evening to revel in fine dining, lively dancing and plenty of surprises at Cox Business Center in downtown Tulsa. All Carnivale proceeds benefit Mental Health Association Oklahoma's housing programs, among other services.

While Carnivale has always been known as the “Best Party in Town” — it also supports one of the most important causes in town. The fight to end homelessness, especially for our veterans, has become more important than ever. The work of the Association has been at the forefront of this mission for decades, and continues to make strides to provide housing, educate the public and remove the stigmas of mental illness.

Making History

The story of this legendary fundraiser began in 1990, when Mrs. Suzanne Warren co-chaired the inaugural Carnivale, then called Le Masquerade. The fundraiser allowed the Mental Health Association Oklahoma to open its first housing program, Walker Hall, in 1991. At that time, proceeds benefitted only 12 tenants. Today, Carnivale will benefit mothers, fathers, sons and daughters living in our 24 apartment complexes in Tulsa and our apartment complex in Oklahoma City.

Carnivale 2018 will capture the relentless spirit of a WWII-era victory celebration. Be prepared to set sail on the voyage of a lifetime with a crew of amped up Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy-style performances and a victory celebration to support those confronting mental illness and homelessness—particularly our veterans.

The Cause

Our Mission

Since 1955, Mental Health Association Oklahoma has envisioned new ways to promote mental health and support those affected by mental illness in our community. Our current programs include housing for over 2,800 individuals and families, many of whom are affected by mental illness. We also offer 11 support groups and peer support programs in Tulsa and Oklahoma City to provide socialization opportunities for those affected by mental illness. Our adolescent programs continue to assist thousands of youth and their families. We provide ongoing educational opportunities to our community on mental health, and we advocate on behalf of those we serve across the state of Oklahoma.

The Cause

We provide more than 1,500 units of safe and affordable housing, along with access to support groups, advocacy, treatment, legal counseling and other community supports. Over the years, we have learned from the success of our tenants that the solution to homelessness is simple and effective: A place to call home and a community of people who believe in their ability to recover with treatment, peer support and social inclusion. Using this model, we are working to eliminate and prevent homelessness of people with mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders throughout Tulsa County and the Oklahoma City metro area.
