MAKING HISTORY

The story of this legendary fundraiser began in 1990, when Mrs. Suzanne Warren co-chaired the inaugural Carnivale, then called Le Masquerade. With the funds raised, we opened our first housing program, Walker Hall which housed 12 residents impacted by mental illness and homelessness. Today, Carnivale provides stability and housing for more than 1,500 individuals and families in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

THE MISSION

Mental Health Association Oklahoma is dedicated to promoting mental health through advocacy, preventing suicide, ending homelessness and transforming the criminal justice system.

THE CAUSE

As the premier boots-on-the-ground nonprofit our expertise and work exists primarily at the intersection of mental illness and homelessness.

MHAOK has been advocating for Oklahomans since 1955. We are dedicated to promoting mental health and the equity of access to care for individuals impacted by mental illness, homelessness, substance use and justice involvement.

Our vision is to end homelessness and achieve a just, humane, and healthy society in which all people are afforded respect, dignity, and the opportunity to achieve their full potential, free from stigma and prejudice. We do this by providing programs that meet people where they are, utilizing a peer-to-peer approach that helps facilitate long-term and sustainable success for the over 30,000 people we serve each year.
